I remember when United got the first A320. I was as 737 FO at the time and many pilots were saying that the A320 would go so junior that I could probably get Captain, but would be crazy to do so because "everyone knew" that Airbus's weren't safe. "if it ain't Boeing, I ain't going" was the mantra. Needless to say, the bids were senior and the drama subsided quickly.
